Who's The Boss?
A couple of children's advocacy groups and a pair of parents from Massachusetts (where else?) are filing suit against Viacom, parent company of The Devil's network Nickelodeon, and Kellogg's, maker of child-murdering Pop-Tarts. Apparently the two companies have aligned to eradicate children throughout the US through the cunning use of marketing.Nickelodeon and Kellogg engage in business practices that literally sicken our children.
I can't tell you how many times I've seen kids projectile vomit upon seeing commercials for cereals high in sugar. And the number of recorded cases where a toddler will spontaneously explode into a giant ball of fat when watching an ad for Fruit Roll-Ups is astounding. It's a multimedia brainwashing and re-education campaign and a disease-promoting one at that. And parents are fed up.
Translation: Parents are tired of parenting. That's what this comes down to, plain and simple. Parents have relinquished control over to their kids and in doing so, are absolved from having to take responsibility for them. (Nevermind the fact that kids nowadays are all mini-Van-Dams running around and round-house kicking the shit out of their folks whenever they don't get what they want....) Isn't it just easier to sue the companies for aiming children's products at children?
In Massachusettss it is.
Thanks to Neil, the human feed-reader who needs to stop finding stories and start blogging about them again.
