D&D Player Goes On Trial For Killing A Co-Worker

.... With a homemade samurai sword.

Prosecutors say Flemons, then 30, was angry because of constant bullying by the victim, Anthony Williams, and other co-workers at Peerless Metal Powders & Abrasive.

But Flemons' lawyer says he is schizophrenic with a psychotic obsession with fantasy role-playing games, including Dungeons & Dragons.

Psychotic obsession, huh? I guess that would back this up:

Witnesses told police that, after the killing, Flemons bought a beer and cigar at a nearby convenience store. He then returned to the scene and positioned Williams' body as if on a cross. Then he opened the beer and lit the cigar as he waited for the police to arrive, his colleagues said.

I'm not gonna' say anything. I know there are a lot of people out there that played D&D back in the day. Some maybe even still do. All I'm saying is that if you see someone walkin' down the street with a disgruntled look on his/her face who's using a pair of 20-sided dice as Japanese stress balls, it may be a good time to take up jogging.

Mike Tyson Wants To Bite Fight Women

For charity of course. Tyson thinks boxer Ann Wolfe would be worthy appetizer opponent but Wolfe's promoter stated it would never happen.

No state would sanction that. She would be outweighed by 60 to 70 pounds. Ann would never entertain the idea.

Ann's obviously got some sense. And while the whole co-ed boxing idea is disturbing, it wasn't the only revelation in the article that made my breakfast creep northward. It appears as though Tyson's a Republican?

Tyson, wearing a white and blue Steele for U.S. Senate T-shirt, said he used to believe black Republicans were "sellouts." But Tyson said he changed his mind after researching the Maryland lieutenant governor.

I'm really just not sure what to make of that....

Come For The Suntan, Stay For The Root Canal

Croatia is upping its tourism appeal by incorporating cheap dental care in its list of Things To Do While In Town.

Zeljko Popadic and his sister Jelena Nedeljkovic started a modest dental practice in the northern Adriatic town of Rovinj in 1997. They had only three employees and a few local patients.

Less than a decade later, their reputation has reached foreign markets as Europeans take advantage of low prices in former communist countries.

Hit the beaches, lay out, grab a late lunch at the hotel, then head on over to the local hot-spot to get that cavity filled. Why not? Nedeljkovic states:

It is a perfect opportunity to combine holidays and dental care.

Amen to that sister. When I was in Italy last year the only thing I could think of while walking through the Vatican was not, "Wonder where Pope Benny is?" but rather, "Hot damn, I could go for a thorough dental cleaning right about now."

.... If only my brother's wife had been Croatian.
