Why Is It So Scary?

U.S. District Court Judge Lawrence Karlton ruled that the Pledge of Allegiance is unconstitutional. The case popped up again after Michael Newdow (yeah, that guy) filed the same case he lost against the U.S. Supreme Court on behalf of three other parents.

Odds are this issue will eventually make it back to the Supreme Court, who threw the previous case out based on a technicality.

This is an issue that any sane, level-headed American should find to be an outrage. The uber-PC left will not rest until every last bit of heritage that this country was founded upon is obliterated for the sole purpose of not offending the easily offended. The fact is that while God Himself may not have played a direct role in the establishment of this country, He did have some standing with the Founding Fathers. Nothing can be done to change that fact. It happened over 200 years ago.

For those who are offended by this, I'm sorry. I'm sorry if "under God" doesn't sit well with you. Sit it out if you want. Go take a leak during the 7th inning of the ballgame so as not to been aurally raped by "God Bless America". (Just be sure to wash your hands.) Blindfold yourself everytime you go to the ATM to get cash out emblazoned with the motto "In God We Trust" so as not to sear your retinas with such an obvious display of forced religion. Do whatever it is you need to do.

But don't expect me to feel sorry for you or your kid because he/she feels "awkward" that they're the only one not saying the Pledge. Don't expect me to cater to your expectation that religion has no place whatsoever in the public forum. (Especially when this is going on.) The majority of this country does believe in a higher power in some form or another. That's something that you'll just have to deal with.

So reach around, get a good grip, and give a little tug to those sensitive panties that have managed to ride up far enough to give you a more than uncomfortable case of political hemorrhoids.

Then sit down. Take a deep breath (in through the nose and out through the mouth is best.)

Then shut up.
