Blame Canada!
With their beady little eyes and flappin' heads all full of lies.
I seem to remember a scene in Michael Moore's slam-dunk, must-see, docu-full-of-shit-ery Bowling For Columbine about how peaceful and pristine our neighbor to the north is - as far as gun violence goes, anyway. We were to look to them as the model on how a society should deal with firearms.
Turns out, they're wrapping up a banner year for gun related deaths - 52 in Toronto alone. Double what it was last year.
Of course, far be it from Canadian officials to take responsibility upon themselves. No, no....
The U.S. is exporting its problem of violence to the streets of Toronto. And in turn, we're importing... what? All their most successful musical artists? Cooler arctic air?
I have no doubt that Moore will be jumping all over this as he is all too eager to lambast his country at every turn. I just hope it spawns a sequel.
BFC 2: Bowl Harder.
