Did Ya' Get That Memo?

Clinton at the UN climate change conference this past Friday:

If we had a serious, disciplined effort to apply, on a large scale, existing clean energy and energy conservation technologies, we could meet and surpass the Kyoto targets easily in a way that would strengthen, and not weaken, our economy.

Former Clinton administration officials, three years ago:

...concede that complying with Kyoto's mandatory reductions in greenhouse gases would be difficult and more expensive to American consumers than they thought when they were in charge.

Now, explain again how the combined $122 billion (and counting) being spent by the world to reduce the global increase in temperature by .0012 degrees Celsius by 2050 is strengthening anyone's economy?
