Hey, It Worked Wonders For Macbeth

Some of you may recall the fairy-tale of Jessie Macbeth - The Army Ranger Who Never Was. For those who need a refresher course, check out Michelle Malkin's round-up. Basically, it was a classic tragi-comedy. One full of lies, deception, and good old-fashioned anti-Americanism, the moral of which focused on the evils of the US military in the Middle East.

The story worked so well that someone up and made a sequel. Lauro Chavez, a former soldier, decided to use his expertise and first-hand knowledge to blow the whistle on the government's story regarding 9/11. He was quickly scooped up by the more prominent members of the "truth" movement as a key figure who would expose the evil, Zionist regime in the White House for what they truly were - an evil, Zionist regime that resides in the White House.

Unfortunately, Chavez (ironic, I know) may not be who he says, or at least may not have the credentials he claimed. (And by "credentials", I mean "honesty".) Taking his cues from CBS, it appears that certain aspects of Mr. Chavez's military career may have been tampered with.

As usual, the boys over at Screw Loose Change are literally all over this story. There's some here, a bit here, a touch more here, a tasty morsel here, and one more here.

Makes one wonder why a movement so steeped in "truth" would need to resort to these kinds of shenanigans.
